Shazeeda Haroon, Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

Shazeeda is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She graduated from York University in 1998, with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and continued graduating in 2000, with a Bachelor of Social Work. She completed her Masters of Social Work in 2006.

Over her career, she has worked in the child welfare and education systems. She has extensive experience working with children and families as they navigate challenges in their lives. She has training in a multitude of areas and engages in ongoing professional development.

​

She is retained as a clinical investigator with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, conducting custody and access assessments. Her experience working with families experiencing separation and divorce includes providing services in co-parenting, family re-unification, custody assessments and voice of the child reports, mediation and child and youth involved mediation.

As part of her practice, she provides individual, couples and family therapy. She draws on a variety of theoretical perspectives to inform her work with clients, including cognitive behavioural therapy, family systems, inter-generational family therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused and brief therapy. Shazeeda is trained to utilize EMDR for treatment of trauma and mental health issues.

Her practice includes sleep training for infants and children and utilizing CBT-I for the treatment of adult insomnia.

She maintains a focus on the emotional well-being and functioning of the individual and family.

Anna Martone has had the pleasure of counselling children, youth and families for 35 years. She is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Canadian Association of Social workers.

Anna recently retired from her role as a School Social Worker after serving with a number of school boards in the GTA and has extensive experience in assessing and providing supportive counselling, crisis support and programming to students in school settings.

Her specific skill set lies in identifying and assessing at risk children and youth with specific mental health, social and emotional needs. She specializes in working with anxiety, depression and underlying trauma that may impact our everyday lives.

She provided specific crisis support and clinical interventions during tragic events which allowed her the privilege of discussing grief, loss and bereavement with her clients. She was the clinical lead of the Peel District School Board’s Critical Incident Response Team for over 10 years.

Anna’s focus is on empowering individuals to build on their unique set of strengths to achieve their goals and overcome many of life’s challenges. Her practice draws on narrative theory and brief solution focused strategies. She relies on the pillars of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy believing that our thoughts are very powerful and drives our behaviours and actions.

Sean is a registered social service worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. He is a member of the Ontario Social Service Worker Association.

​

Sean works with children, youth and adults and is able to connect with his clients with empathy. He is known to create meaningful therapeutic relationships with his clients. Sean’s work is informed by cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma informed, family systems, and humanistic approaches. He has certificates in grief counselling, CBT-I, addictions. He is a SMART recovery trained facilitator for substance misuse, the leading evidenced based addiction recovery program and a Caring Dads facilitator.
